We believe that participation in sport is a fantastic way of building confidence, self-esteem and teamwork skills that will prove vital in later life for young people.

That’s why we were delighted to start our very own Futsal Club in Malta, with the focus on getting as many young people involved as possible.

Futsal is a variation of football that’s played on a smaller pitch with fewer players and a smaller ball. The games promotes speed of thought, skill and technical ability – which is not surprising when you consider it was actually invented in South America.

There is a futsal World Cup and national leagues throughout the world where the game is played at a competitive level.

In the long run, the goal is that Pump Aid no longer needs to provide help, but that the community can use its resources to stand on their own feet.

Futsal has exploded in popularity in Malta in the last 3 years and now has 3 domestic leagues, which for a country with a population of just over 400,000 is remarkable.

So, we decided it would be the perfect place to start our own Futsal team.

Together with a group of enthusiastic futsal players on the Mediterranean island we founded the Nordic Group Futsal Club after a €5,000 initial investment.

The goal of this project is to get as many young people involved in this fast and fun sport as possible.

Our donation will go towards funding training, youth camps, match organisation and much more.

We will be posting plenty of updates from training, camps and games as this exciting project unfolds over the next few months.

Youth involvement in sport is very important issue for our foundation and we will be looking for more projects like this in the future too.
